National MS Society -Multiple Sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Every year we gather a team, donations and we walk at the MS event. Our goal is to help raise awareness and funds to help fight this disease. (In November of 2001 our Visionary received the news that her mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.)
You Belong - is a non profit organization that is focused on the development of single mothers. Its purpose is to provide single mothers with the opportunity and resources that will cause them to love and respect the uniqueness in themselves despite their premature motherhood. You Belong will surround these mothers with teachings and mentoring that promotes love and motivation in addition to providing them with job training, counseling and mentoring services. Since the foundation of this organization You Belong has since branched out to provide many other resources as well.
Shoes for Orphans Souls (SOS), a ministry of Buckner International, provides new socks and shoes to orphans and vulnerable children in the United States, and throughout the world. Since 1999, 2.2 million pairs of new socks and shoes have been distributed to children in 73 countries.
